If you hire someone, wouldn't you like to know a little bit about them?
Jason Sanders here, and I wanted to tell you a little but about the business and myself. People like to know who they are inviting into their homes, so let me start with a little about my business and how I operate.
The Business Model
Comfort Masters of North Alabama is a family owned Heating and Air business based out of Athens Alabama. We specialize in residential heating and air, but will step over into light commercial from time to time. We have a “fix it first” mentality, in that we only replace units if YOU have ruled out a repair as a good option. We work on all major brands and can do gas, heat pump, straight air, electric furnaces and ductless units.
I broke out onto my own because I don’t like the overall direction of the HVAC contracting industry – that’s to say, I really didn’t want to be a “salesman”. There’s been an overwhelming movement among HVAC companies to “sell sell sell” and to get the “big ticket” when they get in front of a customer. That just didn’t sit well with me. I’ve seen it over and over again – “sales quotas” and “minimum average tickets” leads to dishonesty, unnecessary work and a “turn ’em and burn ’em” culture within a company.
A joke that you’ll sometimes hear from “big ticket technicians” is “I’ll park behind ’em, block ’em in, sit down and eat supper with ’em if I have to! I won’t leave without a big contract“.
That’s simply not the way we work. We like to think that our job is to find the problem, give you your options and answer any questions you have. How you proceed is your decision – even if that means you want a second opinion from another company.
I’m not going to turn your living room into a high pressure sales environment just to “pad the bill.” At Comfort Masters of North Alabama, we care more about an accurate diagnosis than selling you a bunch of stuff you didn’t really want.

About the Owner
I’ve been a “tinkerer” my whole life. I was the kid that took things apart to see if I could figure out what was going on inside. I’ve had a long standing love affair with electronics, and particularly the kind of electronics that controls your heating and cooling system.
I’m a US Army veteran that moved to Athens after I got out of the service. I’ve been married since 2000 and am a proud father of two boys. I’m as down to earth as it gets, and like to keep things simple anywhere I can. Sometimes the details can get complicated, but I can almost always break it down to the basics.
I’m originally from Cullman, and knew that North Alabama was gonna be home for us. After living in a boat load of other places, “there’s no place like home” to me, and North Alabama just checks all the boxes for me.
